Apple Beats 1 Radio CSP: blog tasks

1)  How have our music listening habits changed since 1960? People have more options to listen to music and more radios to listen from such as from radios to podcasts and streaming services 2) When did Apple Beats 1 Radio launch and what is it? Apple beats radio launched in 2015 and it is a podcast style radio which streams music and is more of a carefree radio show. 3) What is the difference between Beats 1 Radio, iTunes and Apple Music? Beats 1 is a radio and itunes and apple music are strictly music streaming services Beats 1 Radio sometimes has guests and plays music which is trending whereas Itunes and Apple music only play music which you want to play 4) Why was Apple so keen to enter the online music world and compete with Spotify, Deezer and Amazon Music (and others)? So they have more ways to make money and so that they can widen their target audience from them moving radio stations   5) Why did Apple choose the three selected DJs for launch?  For diversity and their knowledge

Television: Introduction to Science-fiction TV drama

  1) How does   Class  meet the conventions of a TV drama series? Class contains a narrative arc  throughout the series 2) What conventions of the science-fiction genre can you find in the  Class  trailer? List as many as you can and use NCIS to help you. There are many abnormalities in the series and references to space which comes under the general idea of Sci-Fi being supernatural 3) What other genres are suggested by the trailer (e.g. horror)? Is  Class  an example of a modern hybrid-genre show? Action is another genre which is embedded in the series as there are scenes of confrontations in the show. This series is a clear example of a show with multiple genres, "modern hybrid-genre show" 4)  Class  is a spin-off from  Doctor Who . At what point does the character of the Doctor appear in the trailer? Towards the end of the trailer 5) Who do you think the target audience for  Class  is? Is this a typical target audience for the science-fiction genre? Give reasons for your

End of Year 1 exam: Learner Response

 1) Type up your feedback in full (you do not need to write mark/grade if you do not wish to). You need to bring in a range of theories especially for Q2- one is not enough 2) Question 1.1 asked you what intertextuality is. Write out the definition of intertextuality - you may need to look it up in your glossary or Media book if you're not sure. When one media text references another media text (e.g The Doctor appears in Class) 3) Look at your answers for 1.2 and 1.3. Did you  ONLY  write about the clip shown in the exam? How can you improve your answers in these questions? No I slightly also spoke about the first episode for context. 4) Look at your answer for question 2 - the 20-mark essay. Did you write about  BOTH  Doctor Who and Class and give examples from both CSP episodes we have studied? How could you improve your answer here? I could improve my answer by referring to more than one Media theory 5) Are you happy with your End of Year 1 exam result? No but Im not disappointe
