Q9)2

The reason that I didn't get full marks on the longer questions is that I didn't elaborate enough when it came to description.

I did better on Q4 because I revised the media terminology an the meaning of the phrase 'Target Audience'

I need to work on Q9 because I didn't fully understand the text and what I had to portray.

Q9) This is because the target audience are older men and women, most likely the resigned and parents. This shows that the consumers feel remorse for the child and know how it feels since they may have children of their own. Therefore they will donate money to charity. The producers use controversial and emotive images to endorse their charity. The reason for using a malnourished child in the advert is because children are often associated with innocence and vulnerability.

1. Consider the effect of placement (connotations)

2. Further detail for extended questions (Q9)

1) The effect of placement on the title is that the large bold font with white letters show the natural hard life in a 3rd world country of a stereotypical black African child. The placement of the title is next to a nearly bare and unrefined establishment which shows that proper buildings or walls cannot be afforded

2)  In addition the picture may appeal to the resigned in a way that they would want to protect the children. This is because some of them have grandchildren and feel guilty for being able to help the kids of that generation but not doing so they feel their sense of duty and care for the younger generation is suddenly abolished.
